It-Brit and bonafide icon Alexa Chung launched her first collection in collaboration with AG Jeans for SS15. Partnering with the LA-based denim dynamo, Chung created the ultimate collection of casual-chic separates, comprised, she says, of “the missing pieces in my dream denim wardrobe.” Informed by a late ‘60s, early ‘70s aesthetic, Alexa Chung for AG features pieces named for some of the model-cum-muse’s close friends, like the fitted  “Pixie” shirtdress, the “Poppy” shirt jacket, and the “Tennessee” cotton dungarees. Boyfriend tees, high-waisted, straight-leg jeans, and an A-line button-up mini round out the collection of cool basics.
As one of the most coveted fashion icons in recent years whose street-style cred has earned her a massive social media fan base, it comes as no surprise that British It-girl Alexa Chung would eventually bring out her own clothing line, guaranteed to soar off the shelves and reflect her innate sense of style. Collaborating with Adriano Goldschmied throughout the AW14 season, this hotly-anticipated high-waisted collection is just another stride in a series of partnerships that include collaborations with beauty brands Eyeko and Nails Inc., and is designed to fill the missing pieces of her dream denim wardrobe ? since many of her ideas came from items that she or her friends pined for but couldn?t find. Adopting a late sixties, early seventies aesthetic, with some added inspiration from Chanel and 90?s Versace thrown into the mix, this capsule collection by the original Chungster ranges from vintage couture-inspired denim jeans, shrunken jackets, and A-line miniskirts to conservative shorts and feminine blouses in hues of pale pink, cream and red.
