Founded in 1900 by Tony Anzalone, a tailor and former US Navy sailor, Seafarer initially supplied the American armed forces from its Brooklyn headquarters. Adapting his designs for the sailors in the nearby Navy Yard, Anzalone ultimately created the Seafarer bell-bottom, a style the Navy adopted as part of its official uniform. In 1970, Seafarer moved into the fashion sphere with its iconic, wide-leg  Front Pocket jeans, worn by everyone from Jacqueline Bisset and Brigitte Bardot to Jane Birkin. Today, Seafarer remains known for its striped tees and dynamite denim, reimagined in modern, feminine silhouettes that conjure maritime chic at its coolest.
