Launched the Autumn/Winter 2010 season, Damir Doma’s namesake line of women’s ready-to-wear succeeded a successful menswear collection, established three years prior. A former apprentice to both Ann Demeulemeester and Raf Simons, Belgium-trained, Paris-based Doma quickly became known for his strict monochrome palette abd loose, draped and pleated silhouettes in soft, luxe fabrics. More recently, Doma’s aesthetic has evolved, incorporating both more color and more sharply tailored pieces. Doma’s pieces consistently refine and revisit themes of androgyny, lightness and proportion, juxtaposing rough and refined textures. The result is an utterly contemporary, studied take on sophisticated uniform dressing.
