PAULE KA

After opening a multi-label boutique in Lille, France, in 1974, a then-19-year-old Serge Cajfinger would establish the Paule Ka brand 13 years later in Paris. Immersed in womenswear since his teens, when he merchandised YSL’s shop windows, Cajfinger would draw inspiration from some of that era’s most glamorous icons, including Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly and Jacqueline Onassis. Throughout, Paule Ka had been known for both its little black dresses and its strict monochrome palette, offset with flashes of pretty pastels. Signatures, like the skirt suit and countless iterations of the bow flourish, remain Paule Ka style staples.
