A veteran of both Christian Dior and Hermès, illustrator-turned-footwear designer Pierre Hardy launched his namesake label in 1999 in his native Paris. A modernist maestro influenced by volume and proportion as opposed to seasonal trends, Hardy draws on art and architecture to create exquisite, sculptural wedges, pumps and boots. Graphic, sensual and inherently intellectual (Hardy’s references range from the Memphis design group and conceptual artist Daniel Buren to Renaissance master Sandro Boticelli) his footwear always makes an indelible, eye-catching impression.
