Following stints in Italy working for shoe maestros Sergio Rossi and Bruno Magli—and after an ill-fated advertising career—designer Rupert Sanderson launched his eponymous label in 2001 in London. A staunch believer in the “less is more” credo, Sanderson aims to fit and flatter, focusing his designer attentions on balance, material and proportion with sensual lines, luxe finishes and elegant forms. A 2008 recipient of the British Fashion Council’s Accessory Designer of the Year, Sanderson also co-founded Fashion Fringe Shoes that same year.
